Batelipack develops custom backpacks two ways: OEM, where you bring the design and we build it, and ODM, where you start from our existing models and we apply your branding and modifications. Minimum order is from 100 pcs per style and colour for OEM/ODM builds. Sampling takes 7–15 days per round; bulk production runs 30–45 days after sample approval, or 30–60 days for a fully custom OEM design that needs new tooling or new material sourcing.
OEM — you bring the design
Send a drawing, Tech Pack, reference sample or a competitor product with the changes you want. We review construction, materials, hardware and logo method, then quote against that specification. You own the design; we do not sell your custom design to other buyers, and we do not put your product into our catalogue.
What we need to quote:
- Product type, size and capacity (litres, or dimensions in cm)
- Materials: shell fabric, lining, webbing, padding
- Structure: compartments, laptop size, USB port, anti-theft features, cooler lining
- Logo method and placement, with artwork files if available
- Quantity per style and per colour, plus packing requirements
- Target price and target delivery date
ODM — you start from our models
Choose a model from our range and we apply your logo, colours, lining, hardware finish, hangtag and packaging, with small structural changes where the construction allows. ODM is usually the faster route for a first collection, a promotional programme or a gift order, because the pattern and tooling already exist. Ask us for the current model list and we will send the specifications and fabric options for the ones that fit your market.
How development actually runs
- Brief. You send the design or the model reference, together with quantity, market and date.
- Review and quotation. We check the construction and materials, flag anything that will not work at your target price, and quote per project.
- Sample. We build the sample against the agreed specification — 7–15 days. You check materials, stitching, hardware, dimensions, logo and packing.
- Sample revision. Changes are made and re-sampled until the specification is right. Because sampling and bulk run in the same workshop, what you approve is what the lines produce.
- Bulk production. 30–45 days after approval (30–60 days for fully custom OEM), with in-line inspection throughout.
- Inspection and shipment. Pre-shipment inspection at AQL 2.5, loading supervision, and export packing to your labels and carton marks.
Intellectual property and confidentiality
Your design, artwork and technical files stay yours. We do not sell your custom design to other buyers, do not publish your product as our own, and do not name clients without permission. If you need a non-disclosure agreement before sending drawings, we will sign yours or provide ours.
Common questions
Do I need a Tech Pack to start?
No. A clear description plus a reference product or sketch is enough to start a quotation. A Tech Pack speeds up sampling and reduces sample rounds, so it pays off if you have one.
Can you improve my design before production?
Yes. We regularly adjust strap geometry, gusset depth, pocket layout and hardware choice so a design can be produced at the target price without losing its look.
What is the difference in lead time between OEM and ODM?
ODM usually starts faster because the pattern already exists. Fully custom OEM designs take longer at the sampling stage and can extend bulk to 30–60 days if new tooling or new material sourcing is required.
How many sample rounds are normal?
One or two for ODM work, two or three for a fully custom OEM design. Each round takes 7–15 days.
